The workforce development nonprofit CareerEdge Funders Collaborative is partnering with Suncoast Technical College to offer a tuition-free plumbing technology certification program this fall. The nine-month class will be held 7:45 a.m.-2:15 p.m. Monday-Friday, with both classroom learning and on-the-job training. While the focus is on young adults, the program is open to students of any age. Once they complete the program, graduates will be able to enter apprenticeships with local employers, potentially leading to full plumbing careers. Suncoast Technical College is hosting an information session about the program from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8, at 4748 S. Beneva Road, Sarasota.
