The Manasota chapter of the Florida Swimming Pool Association and the association's Swimming Pool Education & Safety Foundation recently contributed $1,625 to the Kids SWIM Fund at the Gulf Coast Community Foundation. The initiative offers free water-safety training to second-graders throughout Sarasota County.

The Roberta Leventhal Sudakoff Foundation recently provided a $25,000 grant to the Sarasota Family YMCA’s Operation Graduation Continuum of Care programs. The programs provide a range of educational services for youth from early childhood through post-secondary education.

The Community Foundation of Sarasota County recently awarded more than $16,000 to local organizations working on research, treatment or other support for victims of Alzheimer's disease and their families. Recipients include the Florida Gulf Coast chapter of the Alzheimer’s Disease & Related Disorders Association, Jewish Family and Children’s Services of the Suncoast, the Pines of Sarasota Foundation, Senior Friendship Centers and the Jewish Housing Council Foundation.

Twenty Sarasota-area Jewish mothers were chosen for a Momentum journey to Israel June 26-July 3 with the Jewish Women’s Renaissance Project and Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs. The Momentum experience includes an eight-day journey to Israel with curated curricula encompassing everything from Jewish values to contemporary Israeli society.
