The Rosemary District Grassroots Planning Initiative, a project of the Rosemary District Association, is holding a celebration and fundraiser from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at Mandeville Beer Garden, 428 N. Lemon Ave., Sarasota. The initiative was created to help guide growth in the rapidly changing Rosemary District for the next five to 10 years. The neighborhood currently has 1,100  apartments and condominiums in the pipeline, as well as hotels and other commercial development. Through a series of meetings with district stakeholders and residents, the organization hopes to create a vision statement and a detailed blueprint for the Rosemary District’s future. Tickets to the Thursday event are $30, which includes a 12-ounce draft beer and a hamburger.
