Florida Gov. Rick Scott on Wednesday appointed Medallion Home founder Carlos Beruff as the chairman of the Florida Constitution Revision Commission. The commission meets every 20 years to review the Florida Constitution; any potential changes to the constitution proposed by the commission will be on the ballot to be voted on by Florida residents in November 2018. Beruff lost a bid for the U.S. Senate in the Republican primary last year. He served on Scott's transition team after Scott's election in 2010 and on a number of other boards, and has contributed over $75,000 to Scott's election committee, Let's Get to Work, since Scott launched his first campaign. Beruff founded the Manatee County homebuilding company Medallion in 1984.
