North Port Hosts First Economic Development Summit

The city of North Port is hosting its first economic development summit this week. City leaders will discuss a draft of the city's Economic Development element, a new proposed chapter to be added to the city’s Comprehensive Plan. The public is invited to comment on the element, or to discuss other aspects of North Port economic development. Suggested topics include the city's competitive advantages, what types of infrastructure investments the city should make, how to make growth environmentally sustainable and more. The event starts at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, at the Morgan Family Center, 6207 West Price Blvd., North Port.
