Sarasota's Icard Merrill was recently included in the 2017 “Best Law Firms” ranking by U.S. News and Best Lawyers, a peer-reviewed publication. Icard Merrill achieved a Tier 1 Ranking for the Sarasota metropolitan area in four different categories: Construction Law, Construction Litigation, Land Use and Zoning Law, and Real Estate Law. The firm earned a Tier 2 Ranking in Commercial Litigation, Family Law, Real Estate Litigation, Land Use and Zoning Litigation, and Personal Injury Litigation — Plaintiffs.

Attorney Kenneth Poole, Jr., a partner with the Sarasota law firm Syprett, Meshad, Resnick, Lieb, Dumbaugh, Jones, Krotec & Westheimer, was recently invited to deliver a presentation on driving and boating under the influence of alcohol to a group of yachting enthusiasts. At the Yacht Rodders Club meeting, held at the Sarasota Yacht Club, Poole discussed blood alcohol content, how alcohol affects women and men differently, how slowly alcohol leaves the body and how to determine how long to wait and when it is safe to operate a yacht or drive a car after consuming alcohol.

Two Icard Merrill attorneys were recently selected for the Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce's 2017 Leadership Class. Jessica Farrelly and Anthony Manganiello will join 41 fellow classmates in a year-long program designed to promote camaraderie, develop leadership and provide an in-depth look at different industries and organizations in Sarasota.
