Six Icard Merrill attorneys were recently selected by their peers to be included in the 2017 edition of The Best Lawyers in America: Charles Bartlett (commercial litigation, banking and finance litigation, construction litigation and real estate litigation); Michael Furen (land use, zoning and real estate law); Thomas Icard, Jr. (construction law and mediation); Robert Lyons (personal injury litigation); William Merrill III (administrative and regulatory law, land use and zoning law, and land use and zoning litigation); and Jaime Wallace (family law).

James Fergeson, Jr.; J. Ronald Skipper; Richard Gans; Matthew Mayper; and J. Allison Archbold, shareholders in the law firm of Fergeson, Skipper, Shaw, Keyser, Baron & Tirabassi, P.A., were also selected for inclusion in the 2017 edition of The Best Lawyers in America. Fergeson was recognized for tax law and for trusts and estates law. Skipper, Gans and Archbold were recognized for trusts and estates law and Mayper for tax law.

Richard Gans, a shareholder in the law firm of Fergeson, Skipper, Shaw, Keyser, Baron & Tirabassi, P.A., was recently named a 2016 Florida Legal Elite. This is the ninth consecutive year he has been selected as a Florida Legal Elite by his peers. Published in the July issue of Florida Trend magazine, the attorneys chosen represent less than 2 percent of the active Florida Bar members who practice in Florida.

Sarasota board-certified civil trial attorney Teresa Jones was recently recognized for 30 years of service with the law firm of Syprett, Meshad, Resnick, Lieb, Dumbaugh, Jones, Krotec & Westheimer, P.A. In addition to holding her board certification every year since 1994, Jones is rated AV Preeminent by the Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review Ratings. She joined Syprett Meshad in the summer of 1986 as an associate and was named partner five years later.
