Publix Super Markets Charities recently awarded All Faiths Food Bank $200,000. The donation will be used to help fund the expansion of the All Faiths Food Bank food distribution center and campus, expected to begin in early 2017. Specifically, Publix Super Markets Charities responded to All Faiths Food Bank’s need for a much larger food cooler and freezer.
Gecko’s Grill & Pub recently raised $6,000 for the Sarasota County 4-H Foundation and Clubs as a result of the restaurant's 24th anniversary BBQ & Party at Gecko’s at the Landings this June. The funds will provide scholarships for Sarasota County 4-H students. This marks the second year that Gecko’s scholarships were awarded to local 4-H student leaders.
Sarasota County - Over 40 Females and The Met are partnering to raise funds for Girls Inc. of Sarasota County, a nonprofit that provides educational programs to girls, particularly those in high-risk, under-served areas. The event, scheduled for 5:30-7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 26, will feature fashion guru and guest speaker Brenda Michel and will take place at The Met, 35 S. Boulevard of the Presidents, St. Armands Circle, Sarasota. Tickets are $35.
