Tickets for this year's SarasotaMOD Weekend, which will be held Nov. 6-8, go on sale to the public on Sept. 28. This year's three-day festival will honor the art and architecture of Carl Abbott FAIA, who is internationally renowned for his modern work and an original member of the Sarasota School of Architecture. This year's events include walking, driving and kayaking tours, yoga at the iconic Umbrella House in Lido Shores, and virtual presentations and videos presented by Abbott. The architect also will be celebrated in two exhibitions which open MOD Weekend: Carl Abbott: Architecture for Nature at the Sarasota Art Museum and an exhibit of his sculpture at the Art Center Sarasota.

With Covid-19 in mind, SAF has redesigned MOD events to meet CDC guidelines. Safety considerations include timed entries, smaller groups, open-air venues and mandatory face coverings. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.

We recently talked with Abbott about his career and design philosophy here.
