Welcome to our new style series, "What I Wear to Work." In this first installment, we'll be talking to Justin Henry of The Hyatt Regency Sarasota. Fun fact: I knew Justin while we both worked at Village on the Isles, a Venice-based retirement community, in high school. He’s traded in that black-and-white uniform for some seriously fashionable pops of color.
Who: Justin Henry, 30, assistant Front Offices and Guest Services Manager at The Hyatt Regency Sarasota.
What I do: My schedule is all over the place. In season, I have a 60-hour workweek, and during the off-season, it falls a little to a 50-hour week.
I may get into work at 7 a.m. or come in at 2-3 p.m., depending on how late I need to stay that night. At work, I oversee the front desk agents and the bell and valet staff. I try to take a very hands-on approach to the hotel’s operations and with employee engagement within the departments. I also perform administrative duties like payroll, scheduling, training and coaching the staff I manage.
My style: Very bright, colorful and expressive.
How has your style evolved? Color has become much more acceptable and fashionable for a guy. Colors, floral prints and various textures are now trendy.
Favorite designers: Calvin Klein, Express, Cole Haan and Kenneth Cole.
My go-to item: One of my style staples is a button-down shirt because you can dress it up or down. They look great dressed down with jeans, khakis or shorts.
Favorite item I own: I have a really cool light blue blazer. It has a vintage feel and a linen-type texture. It strikes the perfect casual balance and pairs well with any color.
For a night out on the town: I would wear a blazer paired with a v-neck tee or button-down shirt. I really like a nice dark-wash or grey-tone jean right now, too. And always dress shoes – with some kind of pattern.
Justin is wearing Calvin Klein khakis, a Ralph Lauren button-down shirt, socks by Happy Socks, Cole Haan shoes, and a blazer, pocket square and belt by Express.
