The Bakero's leavened sourdough.

The Bakero opened on the east end of downtown’s Main Street in late April this year, with owners Piotr and Nataliia Lugowski at the helm. The couple moved here from Poland two years ago, where Nataliia developed her skills as a professional baker. The bakery and café specializes in naturally leavened sourdough ($10 for a whole loaf; $5 for a half). You can also enjoy a hunk of sourdough as part of many of the café's brunch dishes, like “The Bakero Plate” ($15), served with eggs, Gruyère cheese, avocado and housemade jam. Beyond sourdough, the bakery offers a pistachio croissant ($7.50), which is half-dipped in white chocolate and filled with pistachio cream. If you’re dining with someone else, order two—you won’t want to share.
