The Sarasota-Manatee Originals, a coalition of local restaurants, has announced two new dates for its twist on wine dinners. "The Blend" is a progressive dining experience, with wine pairings, during which guests are transported by trolley to several local restaurant stops.
"The Blend is more than just a delicious journey," says Sara Brenner, the Originals' membership manager in a press release. "It's a celebration of the vibrant Sarasota-Manatee community. Our July edition took participants on and around Siesta Key with great success. We can't wait to introduce our guests to more hidden gems and established favorites, all while spreading the love to restaurants that support our area year-round and savoring the essence of what makes our Suncoast culinary scene so special."
On Tuesday, Aug. 20, The Blend explores south Sarasota County by way of Pop's Sunset Grill, Chaz 51 Steakhouse, Café Venice, Fins at Sharky's and Paradise Grill; menu sneak peeks include tuna crudo, lamb lollipop, salmon Wellington and duck tostada.
On Wednesday, Sept. 25, The Blend heads north to Bradenton and Palmetto, stopping at Mean Deans Local Kitchen, Birdrock Taco Shack, Ortygia and The Riverhouse.
Tickets are available online for $135 per person, which includes wine, food, transportation and gratuities.
