Get dressed up for an evening of glamorous food in a surprising location. Under the tiki-thatched roof of Pop's Sunset Grill in Nokomis, three James Beard-nominated and award-winning chefs from around the country will join three Sarasota chefs to create what's sure to be an unforgettable meal.

The James Beard Awards recognize extraordinary members of the hospitality community. To receive a nomination is a great honor and indicator of exceptional talent.

"James Beard Award recognition is like the Academy Awards, but for chefs," said Pops' owner Joe Farrell in a press release.

Award winners and nominees include chef Justin Aprahamian of Sanford Restaurant in Milwaukee, WI. He won Best Chef Midwest 2014 and focuses heavily on seasonal, local ingredients. Chef Martín Rios of Restaurant Martín in Santa Fe, NM, has been nominated five times for Best Chef Southwest and is known for his creative and vibrant flavors. Finally, Chef Rabii Saber has been nominated twice for Outstanding Pastry Chef and practices his art closer to home, at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando. He is a master chocolatier, guaranteeing that the final course will be a runaway hit.

These lauded chefs will showcase their food alongside local chefs Gino Calleja of Reyna's Taqueria, Michelle Wolforth of State Street Eating House + Cocktails, and Marcos Vasquez of Pop's Sunset Grill.

Tickets for the event are $150 per person and include a six-course meal with cocktail and wine pairings. Proceeds will benefit All Faith's Food Bank and the James Beard Foundation Scholarship Program.
