Get set for performances of this classic Romantic tragedy of love, heartbreak and haunting, Friday and Saturday at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. Holiday Night Market

Dec. 21

The Sarasota Farmers Market presents its first-ever night market, filled with twinkling lights, holiday décor, live music (by Passerine) and, of course, lots of gifts and food treats to purchase. The Venice Symphony: A Holly Jolly Holiday

Dec. 17 and 18

Enjoy classic Christmas carols, Hanukkah music, a rendition of Handel’s “Hallelujah Chorus” accompanied by Key Chorale, and the traditional sing-a-long as the symphony celebrates the season. Sarasota Orchestra: Discover Mozart 2: Winter Dreams

There’s much more music in the air this coming week, as the orchestra, under the baton of Sameer Patel and welcoming guest violinist Geneva Lewis, presents a concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Sarasota Opera House. Debussy’s Petite Suite, Respighi’s “Adoration of the Magi,” Vivaldi’s Winter from The Four Seasons and Massenet’s “Meditation” from Thais join Wolfgang Amadeus’ Symphony No. 31 (Paris) on the program. Bradenton Seafood & Music Festival

Dec. 17-19

The inaugural festival, at Bradenton’s Riverwalk Pavilion, kicks off at 4 p.m. Friday and also runs from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, with lots of fresh, local seafood for purchase.
