In November, the Manatee County branch of the NAACP launched a new series of farmers markets that take place on the second Saturday of each month. The next market takes place tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 11, in an open lot at 628 Ninth Ave. E., Bradenton.

According to Manatee NAACP president Robert Powell, about 20 vendors are currently participating in the market, selling food items like baked goods and spices, as well as clothing, candles and more. The organization is hoping to grow its roster of vendors, and plans to continue the monthly series in 2022.

"A lot of people in our community have products that they want to sell, and we wanted to give them a venue where they can do it," says Powell.

The Manatee NAACP farmers market sets up from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, at 628 Ninth Ave. E., Bradenton, and continues on the second Saturday of each month. For more info, follow the NAACP on Facebook.
