Guava flan will be offered at The Lounge at Element this month as part of its new Culinary Culture food series.

Some months ago, the downtown Sarasota steakhouse Element added a luxurious bar area that it's calling The Lounge at Element. In addition to its drinks menu, The Lounge is kicking off a new food series this week. Dubbed Culinary Culture, the ongoing event is intended to showcase the talents of different members of the restaurant's staff.

Dishes include plantain soup, octopus ceviche, rice with pigeon peas and fried pork skin, and more. Prices run from $7 to $14, with a full tasting menu available for $60.

The new menu items will be offered Thursday, Aug. 5, through Saturday, Aug. 28.
