Blasé Southern Style's crab cake will be served with a bay scallop succotash.

Sarasota's Blasé Bistro & Martini Bar is getting a new name and a new menu with an emphasis on southern comfort food. Blasé Southern Style, as the restaurant is now known, will open to the public next Thursday, Oct. 8.

The new menu was devised by chef Robby Clark. Before coming to Sarasota, Clark worked at restaurants in North Carolina and Virginia. He also helms the kitchen at Blasé's sister restaurants, Blasé Café and Pi 3.14 Craft Beer and Spirits. The menu at Blasé Southern Style includes a crab cake with a bay scallop succotash, buttermilk fried chicken with honey mustard and shrimp and grits. You can also grab a burger, a fried catfish sandwich or a country fried steak sandwich, and you'll also find ribs, baked oysters, soups, salads and plenty of desserts.

"We’re excited to bring casual southern cuisine to Southside Village," said Blasé co-owner Kevin Skiest, according to a press release.  “We want to leave behind the pain that Covid-19 brought to us, our industry and many local residents and visitors with a fresh start."

Blasé Southern Style will be located at 1920 Hillview St., Sarasota, and will be open 4-11 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. For more info, call (941) 312-6850 or visit the restaurant's website.
