Like many other local organizations, Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida announced that it is suspending all activities, effective March 16-April 30. However, cookie sales will continue—just in a slightly modified way. Cookie booth sales have been canceled, but Girl Scouts will still be able to sell cookies to friends and family and through neighborhood walkabouts and online platforms like Facebook and Nextdoor. The cookie program has also been extended through March 20.

“The health and safety of our girls, their families, and our volunteers and staff are of the utmost concern,” Mary Anne Servian, CEO of Girl Scouts of Gulfcoast Florida, said in a release. “We are adhering to the CDC guidelines and trying to limit exposure to the COVID-19 virus. We will be working with our troops to help mitigate the adverse effects of this public health emergency on their cookie program earnings.”
