Season may be over, but summer is just getting started—and if you’re a food lover, there are plenty of festivals in Sarasota that showcase the best of our local restaurants. Here are just a few to look forward to.

Historic Bridge Street combines ribs with rhythm at its second annual Blues, Brews & BBQ fundraiser this Saturday. The family friendly event features internationally-acclaimed blues guitarist Gene “Sarasota Slim” Hardage and a handful of other local jazz bands, along with mouthwatering barbecue and drinks. The fundraiser runs 3 p.m.-9 p.m.; cost is $5 for adults and free for children 12 and under. Visit Bridge Street’s website or call (607) 346-4126 for more information.

Savor Sarasota Restaurant Week allows local foodies to sample delicacies at the restaurants they know and love—or the ones they’ve been dying to try. From June 1-14, diners can enjoy three-course meals for $15 per person for lunch and $29 per person for dinner at participating restaurants. Visit Savor Sarasota’s website for more information on the variety of restaurant options and a sneak peek at the menus.

This Memorial Day weekend, wash down that picnic food with an ice cold beer. The Venice Brew Bash serves up live music and food vendors in addition to 60 different craft and import beers. Attendants can enjoy the evening even more knowing it’s all for a good cause: a percentage of the revenue will be donated to Englewood Animal Rescue Sanctuary. A glass for beer sampling costs $35 in advance and $45 day of. The festival runs 3p.m.–7 p.m Saturday, May 28. Tickets and more information are available on Venice Brew Bash’s website.

Welcome summer by celebrating one of its lesser-known holidays: National Dairy Month. Dakin Dairy Farms does just that at their Dairy Day Festival. With pony rides, hands-on 4H education, a mechanical bull, a magical “moogician” and more, there’s no shortage of excitement for kids of all ages. Of course, the whole event wouldn’t be complete without a glass of farm fresh milk and a slice of homemade mozzarella pizza. Guests can pay $7 for entry or purchase a $20 wristband for an all-access pass to the festivities. The celebration is on June 4 from 10 a.m.-5  p.m at Dakin Dairy Farm in Myakka City. Visit Dakin Dairy’s website for more information.

Finally, channel your inner health guru at the Gluten Free + Healthy Lifestyles Exposition at Sarasota Municipal Auditorium on June 25 from 9 a.m-.4 p.m. Attend classes and demonstrations, hear from more than 50 exhibitors and guest speakers, and, of course, sample healthy, gluten-free treats. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students under 18 and free for children under 12.
