The countdown is on for showing love, and everyone's invited. From free laughs to sexy acts, there's something out there for everyone, regardless of status or situationship.

From fun at a drag show to saying 'I do' again, there's a way to say "I love you" for everyone.

While it's easy to grab roses and chocolates or win hearts with a swanky restaurant reservation, you still have time to check out some local Valentine's Day events, too. Check out our list to see how to show your favorite people some love—just note that some events require an RSVP.

Chocolate Walk in Downtown Venice

Thursday, Feb. 8, 5 to 8 p.m.

Take in chocolate treats, drinks, chocolate-themed items, ice cream and more at more than 60 participating locations in Venice. On the day of, Venice MainStreet volunteers will hand out a list of participating locations at the Information Kiosk in Centennial Park. This is a free event. Sarasota Art Museum Valentine’s Masquerade Ball

Saturday, Feb. 10, 7:30-10:30 p.m.

Highlights include dance, live music, a photo booth, food and drinks, a violin performance and poker. The event is organized by SRQ Social, dedicated to curating events for young adults, 20 to 35, and fostering an inclusive atmosphere. Candlelight Concert: Valentine’s Day Special with Listeso String Quartet

Saturday, Feb. 10, 6:30-8 p.m.  

Candlelight concerts are pop-ups that deliver live, classical music performances in intimate spaces lit by the romantic glow of electric candlelight in intimate spaces. This one takes place at Sarasota Municipal Auditorium.

Unconventional Evening at the Sarasota Art Museum

Wednesday, Feb. 14, 6 p.m.

On the night of the big day, check out this immersive and fluid Valentine's Day event with cocktails, dinner, artists and performers flowing throughout each of the museum’s spaces, where guests can “be the art.” 1001 S. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota

Singles Event at Motorworks Brewing

Wednesday, Feb. 14, 5-7 p.m.

Find the one or just have fun at this local favorite spot, which offers food, a sprawling garden with cornhole sets, a bocce ball court, and a life-sized Jenga and Connect Four. The brewery even welcomes four-legged friends to ensure the best company. 1014 Ninth St. W., Bradenton

An Ode to Love: A Special Valentine's Evening at Bookstore1Sarasota

Wednesday, Feb. 14, 8-10 p.m.

Head to the Bookstore1Sarasota loft for desserts and wine, soft live music, and readings of famed Chilean poet Pablo Neruda's love poems in both English and Spanish, performed by professional actors. 117 S. Pineapple Ave., Sarasota

Hard Heart Burlesque Show

Wednesday, Feb. 14, 8 p.m.

Showgirls, Vaudeville and variety performers from all over the state will deliver tease, live vocals, dance, comedy and more. Featured performers include Las Vegas-based Mayven Missbehavin', Luci LeClaire, Gisele Ardente, Le Belle Michele, the Distinguished Daredevils, Nicole Dreger and emcee Burly Nathan. Comedy Night at Big Top Brewers Collective

Wednesday, Feb. 14, doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 8 p.m.

Wedding Vow Renewal on Longboat Key

Wednesday, Feb. 14, 4:30 p.m.-7 p.m.

Register for a non-denominational vow renewal ceremony at Town Center Green on Longboat Key. The ceremony includes light refreshments, music and photo opportunities, a certificate and a flower.  Pre-registration is required before Feb. 9, 2024. Wedding Vow Renewal on Siesta Beach

Wednesday, Feb. 14, 4:30 p.m.-7 p.m.

The long-running event includes a commemorative certificate, a gift, a flower, music on the beach and light refreshments. Check-in begins at 4:30 p.m. and activities begin at 5 p.m. The nondenominational service begins promptly at 6 p.m. Register by Sunday, Feb. 11, or the fee will increase from $15 to $25 for day of-registration. Wednesday, Feb. 14, 4:30 p.m.-7 p.m.

The event includes a commemorative certificate, gift, a flower, music and light refreshments. Check-in begins at 4:30 p.m. and activities begin at 5 p.m. The nondenominational service begins promptly at 6 p.m. Register by Friday, Feb. 10 for $15 per couple or the fee increases to $25 for day-of registration.
