The City of Sarasota's Parks and Recreation District is offering an American Red Cross lifeguarding blended learning course. The course will be led by the city's head lifeguard and recreation leaders; together, they will teach students to help others stay safe in, on, and around the water, as well as the latest safety and rescue techniques and how to deliver critical care like CPR, first aid and AED administration.

Classes will be held during Sarasota County's spring break on March 15, 16 and 17 from 10 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Participants must attend all classes to receive a certificate. Cost is $225 per participant; attendees must be at least 15 years old to enroll and must also pass a pre-course swimming skills test prior to taking the course.
