Dr. Lisa Merritt of Sarasota was recently selected to receive the “True North Toward Health Care Equity: Clinical, Policy and Social Determinants” award at the National Medical Association's 17^th annual Health Policy Colloquium in Maryland. The award recognizes exemplary work that increases the level of advocacy at state, local and national levels as a health policy advocate. Dr. Merritt is a board-certified physiatrist, sub-specializing in brain injury. Over the past 25 years, she has been an advocate for eliminating health disparities by advancing individualized health and wellness strategies.
