Where to Watch Fireworks This Fourth of July

This Fourth of July marks the 250th anniversary—or semiquincentennial—of the signing of the Declaration of Independence in Philadelphia, PA, in which America's original 13 colonies separated from British rule and outlined the "unalienable rights" that would govern the newly sovereign states, including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Anniversary celebrations are taking place throughout the country, both independently and as part of a nationwide America250 initiative. Many are happening right here in Sarasota-Manatee, with options ranging from waterfront fireworks shows to parades, barbecues, apple-pie eating contests, laser light shows and even a $176,000 luxury resort package.
However you want to celebrate, here's how to do it.
