There's hope on the horizon for all Floridians wanting the Covid-19 vaccine, no matter their age.

Gov. Ron DeSantis announced on Thursday that all individuals age 40 and older will be eligible to receive the vaccine starting Monday, March 29. Then, beginning on Monday, April 5, all individuals age 18 and older will be eligible to receive it. This includes those who have already preregistered in their respective county.

All Floridians must pre-register at myvaccine.fl.gov. Once registered, you will be contacted when the vaccine is available in your area. Alternatively, you can call a phone number specifically for Manatee or Sarasota County that will alert you when the vaccine is available. Here is a list of county numbers.

Vaccines are also still available at 150 CVS Pharmacy locations, 125 Walmart and Sam's Club locations, and more than 70 Winn Dixie locations. Every single Publix pharmacy across the state will also have the vaccine available.

According to the state, vaccines in Florida are still in limited supply from the federal government. If you are already registered, it is unknown how long it will take before you receive your first dose. You can get in line and check your status here.
