Washington, D.C.'s Rowman & Littlefield Publishing Group, Inc. last week purchased the Sarasota book publisher Pineapple Press. Pineapple Press was founded in 1982 by June and David Cussen and focuses on publishing books related to Florida; the company has published more than 400 titles. It has sold more than 250,000 copies of Patrick D. Smith's well-loved historical novel, A Land Remembered. With the deal, Pineapple Press will become an imprint of Globe Pequot, a division of Rowman & Littlefield, an independent publisher founded in 1949.
