Habitat for Humanity Sarasota, FCCI Insurance Group and dozens of volunteers and community members are holding a "slab blessing" for a deserving Sarasota family on Friday morning. The blessing is the first of its kind for Habitat for Humanity Sarasota, which is starting construction on its fourth house sponsored by FCCI through the state's Community Contribution Tax Credit Program. The program was created to encourage Florida businesses to make donations toward community development and housing projects for low-income individuals. Employees from FCCI will provide a minimum of 200 volunteer hours to build the home, which will be located at 1843 Country Meadows Drive, Sarasota.
