Alabama's Raycom Media purchased Sarasota's WWSB ABC 7 on Monday, in addition to an ABC affiliate in Tallahassee.

Raycom Media, headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama, purchased Sarasota's WWSB ABC 7 on Monday, in addition to an ABC affiliate in Tallahassee. The company, which has 4,800 employees, also owns stations in West Palm Beach and Panama City, and owns or provides services for 65 television stations and two radio stations in 44 markets in 20 states overall. ABC 7 produces 37 hours a week of local news, lifestyle and community affairs shows, according to a Raycom press release.
