Consumer sentiment among Floridians dropped in April after a record-high reading in March.

Consumer sentiment among Floridians dropped in April by 3.5 points to 95.7 after a record-high reading of 99.2 in March, according to the latest survey by the University of Florida's Bureau of Economic and Business Research. Perceptions of one’s personal financial situation now, when compared with a year ago, rose by 2.2 points, while opinions as to whether now is a good time to buy a major household item such as an appliance dropped by 1.9 points. Expectations of personal finances a year from now declined, as did anticipated U.S. economic conditions over the next year and expectations of U.S. economic conditions over the next five years. The study reflects the responses of 568 individuals who were reached on cell phones.
