State Street Stretch to Close Permanently on Saturday
State Street will be permanently closed to vehicular traffic between Lemon and Pineapple Avenues due to construction of The Mark.

Downtown Sarasota's State Street will be permanently closed to vehicular traffic between Lemon and Pineapple Avenues, beginning Saturday, Oct. 21, due to construction of The Mark. The Mark will include 157 residences, 35,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor and 11,000 square feet of office space. The project is expected to be completed by late 2019. The stretch of State Street that is being closed to cars is set to become a pedestrian mall.
