The Sarasota Bayfront Planning Organization recently selected the urban design firm Sasaki to create a master plan for 42 acres of property around the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall on the Sarasota bayfront. Twenty-two firms submitted applications to the organization; Sasaki was selected from among four finalists. The organization will next outline expectations for the master plan and finalize a contract with Sasaki. Sasaki has offices in Boston and Shanghai and specializes in landscape architecture, planning, urban design, architecture, interior design, civil engineering, graphic design, place branding and data science.
