Forced to postpone the event because of Hurricane Irma, the Republican Party of Sarasota will hold its dinner honoring former Vice President Dick Cheney and his daughter, Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., on Friday, Jan. 19. The party will name Dick Cheney its 2017 Statesman of the Year and Liz Cheney its Stateswoman of the Year during the event. The dinner begins with a VIP reception at 5:30 p.m., with the main program beginning at 7. The dinner takes place at the Hyatt Regency, 1000 Boulevard of the Arts, Sarasota.
