Jaws at Mote

Remember the thrill you got when you first saw Jaws on the big screen and that giant shark leapt out of the water? (We spilled our popcorn.) Urbanite Theatre presents Breadcrumbs

Longtime local theater buffs will cheer the return of former Asolo Rep actress Barbara Redmond to the stage in the Urbanite Theatre production of Breadcrumbs. It’s the story of a reclusive fiction writer diagnosed with dementia and a troubled young caretaker who helps her complete her autobiography. urbanitetheatre.com

Free screening of Zootopia

Next up in the Sarasota police department’s Blue + You free movie night screenings: the Disney animated comedy-adventure Zootopia at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex’s sports field. Free drinks and snacks, too, but bring your own blanket or lawn chairs. To get you in the mood, here’s a YouTube video of the catchy theme song.
