LIBBY’S spicy tuna rice paper roll. The Place

Libby’s Café + Bar, 1917 S. Osprey Ave., in the heart of Southside Village. A full wall of the spacious dining area opens up to popular sidewalk seating (as the weather allows), combining the urban energy of Southside Village with Libby’s creative, global cuisine.

The Crowd

Businesspeople of all shapes and sizes, from YPGers talking shop over tapas to top-tier executives celebrating fourth-quarter returns with wine and egg rolls.

Time factor

There may be a wait if you insist on alfresco, but sitting inside is always a good option. Still, everything from the food to the linens encourages you to take your time. Budget at least an hour.

The Food

Head straight to the “Five and Dime” menu for five lunch options, including the “deviled egg salad sandwich” and kimchi fried rice, plus a choice of soup or salad, all for $10. If you’re not afraid to make a decision, the extensive, seasonally inspired menu spans from small plates like a sushi-inspired spicy tuna rice paper roll ($9) and crispy red lentil cakes ($8), to entrées like four cheese and pear tortelloni ($15) to honey-garlic king prawns ($20). Oenophiles will also appreciate the Wine Spectator award-winning wine list.
