Suncoast Blood Centers Urges Memorial Day Weekend Blood Donations
The blood bank says that blood supply across the country—including Sarasota-Manatee—is critically low.

As Memorial Day approaches, blood banks around the country, including in Sarasota-Manatee, say they have reached dangerously critical low blood levels due to natural disasters, Covid-19 and civil unrest. To help replenish the local blood supply, for every successful donation over Memorial Day Weekend SunCoast Blood Centers will donate $10 to a nonprofit foundation to benefit special operations forces for the wounded, ill and injured and their families.
To be eligible to donate blood, a person must be in good health and generally must be at least 16 years of age. To learn more and make an appointment, click here.
