Fondren and Danny's Siesta Key Engagement Session

By Megan McDonald September 17, 2012

We've shown you several real Sarasota weddings on this blog so far--scroll down to check them out!--but from time to time, we'll showcase photos of some especially unique engagement shoots that have caught our eye, too--like Fondren and Danny's moody Siesta Key session, photographed by Naomi Chokr. The couple, who first met and became friends while attending college at FSU and began dating after a chance reunion years later, was initially nervous that an impending storm would literally put a damper on the shoot. "I must have called Naomi three times confirming whether or not she still wanted to go ahead with the shoot," Fondren says. "But she kept reassuring us that she'd dealt with situations like this before and we should at least give it a shot. We are so glad we took her advice."

And the couple's less-formal engagement session is a good example of the more casual style that's become popular for engagement sessions these days. "I was honestly concerned that taking engagement photos would bother Danny a little bit because there [can be] so much posing that usually happens in them," Fondren says. "But what I learned about it all is that you can shape and design your shoot to go along with how you feel most comfortable."
