It may be a little off the beaten track, but it's still just 15 minutes away from Lakewood Ranch, which has tons of shops and restaurants. Other fun, nearby destinations include Hunsader Farms, where you can pick your own produce depending on the season, and Celery Fields, which has great bird watching and a walking trail. Beaches are roughly a 40-minute drive away.
