The award is given to destinations that receive a Certificate of Excellence from the website every year for the previous five years. TripAdvisor hands out the certificates to businesses or organizations that earn an overall rating of at least four out of five, generate a minimum number of reviews and are listed on the site for at least one year. St. Armands Circle currently has a 4.5 rating on the site, with nearly 5,000 reviews posted.
