Food will be distributed to up to 1,000 families at the Ellenton Prime Outlets on Saturday, June 6.
The funds will provide several weeks' worth of meals to those in need.
Since the start of the COVID-19 outbreak, Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee has seen a 30 percent increase in meal requests.
"We are seeing a huge increase in needs," says Amy Towery, the vice president of development at Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee.
The "summer relief bags" also included more than 126,000 meals for children during the weekends.
Daybreak Adult Day Center, a program of Meals on Wheels PLUS, has space available for seniors in Manatee County.
According to Manatee County Schools, more than 60 percent of Manatee County students qualify for the federal Free and Reduced Lunch program.
