Key Chorale Presents
One Light, Many Voices:
A Festival of the Human Spirit and Sacred Song

An uplifting celebration of unity, faith, and the human spirit

Presented by Key Chorale April 15, 2026

Key Chorale announces One Light, Many Voices, an uplifting celebration of unity, faith, and the human spirit, taking place May 3, 2026 at 4:00 PM at First United Methodist Church, Sarasota. Led by guest conductor Jamal Sarikoki, this powerful program brings together more than 150 voices – Key Chorale, the choirs of First United Methodist Church and Church of the Redeemer, brass quintet, timpani, and organ for an afternoon of jubilant sound and inspiring texts.

In an exciting opportunity, audience members are invited to join the festival choir, brass, and percussion in singing Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, The Old Hundredth Psalm Tune, and We Shall Overcome. This participatory element underscores the concert’s central theme: many voices coming together as one.

Jamal Sarikoki

Jamal Sarikoki has curated a program that blends timeless masterworks with contemporary compositions, all centered on themes of wonder, freedom, service, and hope. Texts by Walt Whitman, Sara Teasdale, Maya Angelou, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and the Psalms form the emotional core of the concert.

Audiences will experience these and much more:

• Ralph Vaughan Williams’ exultant O Clap Your Hands

• Haydn’s majestic The Heavens Are Telling

• Morten Lauridsen’s luminous Sure on This Shining Night

  • Dan Forrest’s rhythmic Gloria in Excelsis Deo
  • Roland Carter’s stirring arrangement of Lift Every Voice and Sing
  • Traditional and gospel favorites, including Walk Together Children and We Shall Overcome
  • Organists Sam Nelson and Micheal Stuart will also be featured in virtuosic settings by Craig Phillips
