Key Chorale Presents Radiance: A Concert in Candlelight
Key Chorale, Sarasota’s premier symphonic chorus, announces its newest immersive performance experience, Radiance: A Concert in Candlelight, taking place April 18 at First Congregational Church in Sarasota. This luminous program brings together the Key Chorale Chamber Singers with guest instrumentalists for an evening designed to awaken the senses and soothe the spirit.
Bathed in the warm glow of hundreds of candles, the concert invites audiences into an intimate, multi sensory atmosphere where light, sound, and space converge. The Chamber Singers will perform a curated selection of ethereal choral works, complemented by the expressive tones of violin, piano and cello, weaving together music of serenity, transcendence, and quiet radiance.
Highlights of the program include Stephen Paulus’ Pilgrims’ Hymn, Sanctus from Faure’s Requiem, Tango to Evora by Loreena McKennitt, Stars by Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds, plus Serenity and Dark Night of the Soul by Ola Gjeilo.

“Radiance is about creating a moment of stillness and beauty,” said Joseph Caulkins, Artistic Director of Key Chorale. “The candlelit setting transforms the entire experience. It allows the music to breathe in a different way—more personal, more contemplative, and deeply moving.”
The program features repertoire chosen for its luminous textures and celestial character, offering audiences a rare opportunity to experience choral music in a setting that feels both timeless and transportive.
