Best of Newtown’s History, Culture, and Cuisine to be On Display at A Taste of Newtown - Local Vendors Encouraged to Apply!

On Saturday, November 8, A Taste of Newtown will draw residents from the Newtown neighborhood and greater Sarasota for a free, family-friendly food festival honoring Newtown’s past, celebrating its present, and looking forward to its future.
With an array of local vendors and partners serving up delicious eats, selling goods, displaying art, and performances taking place throughout the day, attendees are in for an afternoon of celebrating and discovering everything that has made Newtown the vibrant and cherished neighborhood that Sarasotans love.
What to expect:
- Enjoy delicious local fare from Newtown-area restaurants, chefs, and food trucks with something for everyone to enjoy.
- Discover what local artisans, businesses, and community organizations are creating in and contributing to Newtown.
- Learn about the rich history of Newtown and experience its culture through various live performances and music.
- Experience Newtown in a whole new way on a historic Newtown Alive trolley tour - free to event attendees!
- Bring along the little ones to enjoy special children’s activities and play on the R. L. Taylor playground.
Taking place outdoors from 12:00-5:00PM at the Robert L. Taylor Community Complex, this is a free event and open to the public. All are welcome—bring your family, friends and neighbors to take part in the celebration.
Attendees are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy the programs! And while this event is free and open to all, sign-ups are encouraged. RSVP for a chance to win a raffle prize!
