“We support, educate, and advocate for strong public libraries in Sarasota County.”
We believe great communities deserve great libraries. Founded in 2011, the Library Foundation raises private donations to supplement public support to keep our libraries strong, innovative, and accessible to all. We focus on ways to enhance the library system for everyone in Sarasota. Working closely with the Sarasota County Library System and the Friends’ organizations at each library branch, we help ensure our library system has the resources needed to serve our growing community.
- MISSION: We champion strong public libraries, support
innovation and help to extend the library system’s reach
for everyone in Sarasota County. - REACH: 5,000 visits per day to our library system
- RAISED: $8 million+ to benefit Sarasota County public libraries
- SIGNATURE EVENT: Every February, the sell-out Love Our Libraries Author Luncheon features a nationally acclaimed author and brings together 700 community members to strengthen and support our library system
