“In such a generous community, how can over 2,300 students be classified as homeless?"

Presented by Hope 4 Communities September 5, 2023

"Sharing hope with the children who need it most, this is the heart of our organization. We meet more than the tangible needs of back to school, we partner with churches, schools, and community partners so our families become connected to the support and resources they need, and most of all… HOPE.” - Pam Hawn, Executive Director

Hope 4 Communities ensures that all children in need are prepared for school by initiating Days 4 Hope and coaching faith-based organizations to develop lasting, meaningful relationships with children and families.  We build the strength of the relationship, provide tangible needs, create a net of support services year round that didn’t previously exist, and help to improve the family’s overall quality of life.  We love to foster community involvement, give parents peace, and children hope!

  • 2009: Our 1st back to school community outreach project is launched, helping 200 students.
  • 2021: Our largest year, 13th annual event, 20 sponsoring churches, serving 3,051 students, with thousands of volunteers!
  • In 15 years we have served 27,874 students (PreK - 12th grade).
  • Today, according to Schoolhouse Link there are over 1,000 children classified as homeless in Sarasota County, and according to Project Heart approx. 1,300- 1,400 children classified as homeless in Manatee County.
