Our foundation was created in 1995 with proceeds from the sale of The Venice Hospital, a community hospital that had been founded by local citizens more than four decades earlier. Headquartered in Venice, Fla., and with a second office in downtown Sarasota, Fla., we have transformed the region with our donors for over 25 years. Serving the needs of the region as a partner in philanthropy and leader in community initiatives, together with our donors, Gulf Coast has surpassed granting $515 million in the areas of health and human services, civic and economic development, education, arts and culture, and the environment.
