You Need Nature. Nature Needs You.

“Our mission is to protect the land and water in Southwest Florida for the benefit of people and nature.”

Presented by Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast September 5, 2023

Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast saves land, forever.
Protecting nature for kids and for grown-ups, for wildlife, and for waterways. We safeguard those special places that make a difference in all of our lives. Places that give us clean water to drink, abundant wildlife, and local food. We all need beautiful, natural areas to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, to hike, bike, swim, and fish. It is the reason we live, work, and play here on Florida’s Gulf Coast.

But we need your help.

Every day more of our special places are disappearing, but with your support, we can create a future with clean, abundant water, thriving natural communities for plants and animals, and beautiful places for all people to enjoy. We need willing landowners, donors, businesses, various agencies, and local governments, to get the job done, now, because time is running out. Your gift to Conservation Foundation today protects tomorrow. Join us as we work toward a future where the human and natural worlds flourish together.

  • To date, we have protected more than 19,200 acres across 56 properties – from ranchlands to shorelines – in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, Lee,
    and Collier Counties.
  • Since inception, we’ve leveraged every dollar 4 times for land conservation.
  • The land we save ensures our water quality and prevents flooding, protects animals’ homes, creates corridors of conserved lands, and provides unique public access.
  • Our environmental education programs get kids and adults outside year-round, providing a wide range of benefits and WOW! moments in nature each year.
  • With our partners, we’ve created eight public parks and take care of twenty-five different natural areas totaling over 3,000 acres.
