Mikael and Karen Hansen, owners of Copenhagen Imports on South Tamiami Trail, connected with the Resurrection House many years ago through their church, Church of The Palms , and liked the fact that  it is an all-faiths organization lending a helping hand to those in need in our community.

Resurrection House has been serving Sarasota’s homeless population in the heart of the Rosemary District for decades providing  a wide range of services, including but not limited to showers, laundry, counseling, medical treatments, veteran’s assistance, food and clothing.

Through an annual in-store charity promotion, the Hansen’s have raised over $65,000 to date, and find comfort knowing 100% of those donated dollars go directly to the Resurrection House mission, unlike other larger national non-profits. That’s a lot of warm meals, hot showers, and counseling for those experiencing homelessness at a time when our community’s seen an unprecedented need.

Now thru January 15, 2024, customers who donate $50 or more to the Resurrection House will earn an immediate rebate of at least $200 per seat and in some cases as much as $400 per seat on their purchase of the famous Stressless brand furniture.  Shop the gorgeous upholstery, recliners or dining chairs in beautiful glove soft leathers or rich textiles and be part of this long-standing local charity event. While online shopping has seen its heyday these past two years, it doesn’t have an impact on our local economy or help disadvantaged members of our community. When we support our local businesses, we contribute to a thriving Sarasota.
