Mara Torres González, a modern contemporary artist born and raised in Puerto Rico, has opened her own studio in the heart of Sarasota’s Rosemary District. Mara’s work ranges from fine art to unique functional art including tables, trays, decorative pillows, and more. From nature to social controversy, she is inspired by anything her eye catches. With over 18 years of experience in the event industry, she has chosen to not only create a space to showcase her art, and the art of others, but one that will be a home to all kinds of workshops, exhibitions and special celebrations. Some of the workshops available for booking include acrylic pouring, alcohol ink, abstract and collaborative, among others. Mara wants to share a piece of Puerto Rico with the community through her art. “The real beauty of art is that it speaks to people in different ways. It’s a story that doesn’t need translation.”
