New College is the Honors College of Florida. Founded in 1960, New College of Florida is a public, residential, four-year college providing a customized academic and career-building student learning experience. Through rigorous academics, individualized learning, and close interaction with faculty, students discover the power of fearless learning to propel them toward their academic and professional goals. New College offers more than 40 majors in STEM fields, arts, humanities, and social sciences and is introducing new programs in global health, quantitative social science, and digital media. For 2020-21, New College was named a College of Distinction for its personalized educational model, a Fiske “Best Buy” school for its affordability, and the No. 6 public liberal arts college in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
