Hard work has always been in the forefront for New England native Karen Medford. With lucrative careers in Los Angeles and New York City, in both the music and medical industries, she actually never considered either city home. Every week Medford was on an airplane traveling across the country or overseas. Her true passion was escaping to the local spas for overall health and self-care, and she did a lot of research.

Once her husband and children entered the picture, the focus shifted to family and community. After relocating to Lakewood Ranch to be closer to her parents, her passion was realized to provide a haven of wellness and beauty for others, give back to the community and raise her two daughters, Ava and Mya.

Providing luxurious services and supporting the community is very important to Medford, who now owns and operates two Sirius Day Spas in our town (one on Cooper Creek Boulevard and one on State Road 70 in Lakewood Ranch). Each luxury spa features 11 treatment rooms, Serenity lounge and full hair salon. Sirius Day Spa’s many events encompass local businesses and fund raising, including Sisterhood for Good, Circus Arts Conservatory, Sunshine Kids and others.

Medford also serves on the Events Committee for Lakewood Ranch Business Alliance and on the Wellness Task Force for Visit Sarasota County, and is a proud writer/contributor for Sarasota Manatee Mom, the Premier Source for Sarasota/Manatee moms/families. Her most important accomplishment to date is being a mom.
