The Giving Challenge runs from noon until noon, April 28 through April 29, and is aimed at connecting individuals with local nonprofits and supports local giving.

Social distancing has left many of us wanting to feel connected to our larger community and to be part of something that unites our region. Fortunately, the online, 24-hour period known as The Giving Challenge was already scheduled from noon until noon, April 28 through April 29. For years, the Giving Challenge has been a catalyst for meaningful connections, bringing passionate community members together with causes they care about to make a lasting difference by giving local.

In the true collaborative nature of the area’s nonprofit community, several hundred organizations came together to enhance the spirit of unity that this event represents. The organizations quickly developed a video to remind our region of the possibilities we have to work together to support one another.

Dubbed the #WeAreOne Video, this piece was produced by the Community Foundation of Sarasota County and WAEVY Films to inspire those who are in a position to give to support causes and organizations that are close to their hearts and can be counted on to assist our friends and neighbors.

As a way to strengthen your impact during this 24-hour giving event, The Patterson Foundation is providing a one-for-one match for all for all unique donations, up to $100 per donor, per organization. The best part? There is no limit to the number of matches a nonprofit can receive from unique donors during The Giving Challenge, so exploration is highly encouraged.
